Steve is an experienced executive and CEO of High Tide’s parent company Avidian. A Professional Geologist with over 25 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry including open-pit and underground mine operations, PEA and feasibility studies, exploration programs and mine development. Drill-defined over 1 billion tonnes of iron ore at the Tuktu and Roche Bay iron ore deposits in Nunavut, Canada.

Mr. Zurowski has almost 40 years experience in the mineral exploration and mining industry as both an engineer and executive including being a co-founder of Baffinland Iron Ore where he worked for almost 15 years. His career spans the globe having worked for major mining companies as well as a consultant. During that time Michael has managed multi-million-dollar exploration budgets and assisted in the raising of $750 million in equity and debt for the construction of the world class Mary River iron ore project in Nunavut, Canada.

Over 25 years of experience specializing in the areas of financial reporting, controls and administration. Has held the positions of CFO and Controller for several mineral exploration companies including Unigold, Intrepid Mines, Metalla Royalty & Streaming, Firestone Ventures and Aurania Resources.

Over 50 years of experience including roles with Iron Ore Company of Canada and ArcelorMittal Canada in the Labrador Trough. Internationally recognized authority in the technical and economic aspects of ironmaking, sintering and pelletizing processes, iron ore mining, processing & properties.

Over 25 years of experience in international mining operations with BHP World Minerals Group. Broad experience covering large mature mines, small operations, corporate operations and exploration projects. Managed the rebuild of the Town of Lac Megantic, Quebec following the train derailment disaster.

Over 18 years experience in Canadian and international junior mineral exploration projects. Extensive experience throughout the Labrador trough on advanced iron ore properties including the Kami and Julienne Lake deposits.
